Bowl So Hard

Just another manic Monday..

Monday used to be my LEAST favorite day of the week. Now it is my favorite. Seriously. The best thing about the weekend is that MONDAY comes right after.

A large group of friends & myself have started to regularly bowl on Monday nights ($1 games – how could you not?). It was one of the best things we could have ever done. Open bowl goes from 4p-11p & we usually get there around 630p to begin. I’ve started to go a little early because I have to leave early for work, but am still able to get 2 or 3 solid games in.

Words cannot express how TERRIBLE I was at bowling before this all started. I was lucky to bowl above a 50 (not a joke). I wish I bowled more consistent, but I am still improving! My games are starting to stay about 110 & last week I bowled my new high score of 169!

As an early birthday present, Jim’s dad was nice enough to get me my own shoes & ball! I love, love, love my ball and can’t believe I waited so long to get one. I also feel much, much safer with my own shoes (I think we all share the same concerns with public, rent-able shoes).

I guess I can calling bowling my hobby – right? I’ve been in search for one for quite some time. I’m not very good at painting or sewing so I never knew what to do with my free time. BOWLING…is definitely it. It’s nice to do something different, not a weekend, and with everyone around.

I think I’m feeling the extra love tonight because I didn’t go today – BOO headaches. My whole evening felt empty and that will be the LAST time I don’t go.

Bowl so hard.

What are some things you like to do? Do people my age (talking like I’m 50..) still have hobbies? I’d love to go out and try new things!

I wish I could LOVE this post, Jackie!! Owning your own bowling shoes are probably the greatest thing ever. Every time I go bowling, I make sure to bring my own ball and shoes..i’m a spaz about using house balls and rental shoes…just the thought of it makes me shudder.. and for hobbies? Mini-golf season is here! And I guess my current hobby is making my own “quote books”. Best of luck with bowling, you’ll get better with practice!
